In consultation with the Superintendent of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, the clergy associated with area churches and synagogues have developed a plan to provide supplemental nutrition to students affected by school closures. If you want to learn more about the success of the program in its first week of partnership with CHCCS and area churches and synagogues, click here.
What can you do to help?
Volunteer: The involved congregations have decided to continue volunteering at our sites until directed otherwise. Those wishing to volunteer will need to make that decision for themselves with each new development in our country’s COVID-19 response. Please make the best choice for you and those closest to you about whether to volunteer. If you are comfortable with volunteering, you can sign up here for the University UMC Lunch Bunch.
Donate: Congregations have been encouraged to establish a special fund for food and nutritional supplementation. You can give to this fund by clicking here and selecting CHCCS Nutrition Fund.
