University United Methodist Church offers worship services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m on Sunday mornings. The early service offers weekly Sacraments – either Holy Communion or Baptism. The later service incorporates a broader musical repertoire and observes Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each liturgical season. Furthermore, a gluten-free station is offered for those in need, who wish to partake in Communion.
Past worship services are available for viewing on the church’s YouTube Channel.
Children are always welcome at University UMC and are invited to take part in all aspects of worship, including communion. Childcare is available for infants through kindergarten during both worship services on the ground floor of the Education Wing. Paid childcare workers and parent volunteers care for children in a safe sanctuary environment.
University UMC is a church “loving God, serving others and building Christian community.” To embody this mission for all God’s children, a sensory-friendly room is available for kids who need a respite from the bustle of the church. Our sensory room will allow them a comfortable, safe space to recuperate in order to re-enter all the fun activities they know and love. Soft lighting and specialized toys and equipment will provide the tools necessary to either calm their overstimulated bodies or provide the sensory input their bodies are seeking. It will also be useful for children with other medical diagnoses who need this short-term retreat during church functions. The small room attached to the nursery is the home for our sensory room. As many parents can attest, this is the perfect space to create a quiet, soothing environment. Nursing mothers will continue to be welcome to feed their babies in the comfort of the rocker. If you have suggestions or would like more information, please contact Melissa Miller, Director of Children & Family Ministries.
