Children and Family Ministries Assistant

The Children and Family Ministry is looking for a part-time assistant. The assistant to the Director of Children and Family Ministries is responsible for record-keeping, data entry and maintenance, and communication with volunteers. This person will report to Rebecca Dyck (Director, CFM), and be in frequent collaborative contact with other church staff.

Assistant Teacher

Play-based, half day preschool is looking for an assistant teacher in our 3-year-old classroom. This is a part-time position that meets Monday – Thursday mornings (8:30-12:30) during the traditional academic year. Qualifications include experience in a classroom setting and the ability to collaborate with a lead teacher to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child. Other duties include ensuring the safety of the students, communicating with the Preschool Director, lead teacher and other school staff members, communicating with parents, and acting in accordance with our team philosophy and preschool mission statement.

 

The position begins immediately, and our school year ends in late May 2023. We offer paid teacher workdays, PTO, several paid holidays, and opportunities for professional development throughout the year. Teachers are required to attend staff meetings and additional events throughout the school year outside of the regular school day. The assistant teacher receives additional paid monthly planning time. This is position is typically 16 hours per week (sometimes more if the school has a staff meeting or an event). As this is a part-time position, we do not offer benefits. Based on performance, this job may be renewed in August 2023.

Realm and Production Assistant

Reports to: Executive Pastor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Part Time (14 hours per week)
W-Th 9 am-4 pm

Position Description: The Realm and Production Assistant oversees weekly production of communication projects and Realm database upkeep.

Essential Functions

Production
·      Proof communication materials in coordination with Volunteers and Staff
·      Oversee weekly production of bulletins (worship, funeral, special events)
·      Constant Contact
•            Maintain email listservs
•            Upload email listservs to Constant Contact every week
•            Proof and edit Thursday email
•            Proof and edit memorial emails and other special emails
·      Oversee production and volunteer teams for bulk newsletter mailings
·      Oversee production of seasonal communications (stewardship, senior adult newsletter)
·      Backup Communications Manager when they are out

Realm (Database) Support
• Membership database maintenance (Realm)

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Requirements
Physically able to perform basic office type functions, sit at desk for much of the day, operate computer equipment, greet visitors and answer telephones. Must be present in the office. This position is not a work-remotely position.

Core Competencies
Capable in Constant Contact, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel), Realm database, typing skills, Word-Processor skills,familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign and/or Ilustrator, telephone experience, file maintenance, and scheduling.

Role-specific
Ability to multi-task and keep deadlines across differing program areas. Detail-oriented.  “Customer-oriented” where customer could be church member, someone visiting for a meeting or an unsheltered person looking for assistance.  Able to handle interruptions.
