Moravian Love Feast

December 16, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Gather with family and friends at the 45th Annual Love Feast at University UMC – December 16 at 7:00 p.m. The Love Feast is a service that dates from the beginnings of the Christian Church, when Christians would gather and eat a meal to celebrate the love that bound them together. In 1727, the Moravian Church renewed the practice of the Love Feast as a fellowship meal. John Wesley, founder of Methodism, used the Love Feast frequently during his ministry. He found it to be particularly appropriate at Christmas, as a celebration of the love that Christ brought to the world. All are welcome to break bread, light candles, and sing carols.

16 male servers and 16 female servers are needed to make this beautiful service happen.Males need to wear a dark suit, white shirt, and tie (Christmas ones welcomed!) and be able to carry wooden trays with half-filled coffee mugs. Female attire is a dark skirt or pants and white top (white apron and doily will be provided). Two “behind-the-scenes” helpers are also needed.  Register to serve by clicking here. Questions? Contact Carol Walker  (919-414-3177).
