Opportunities at the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service’s Community Kitchen

September 7, 2020 @ 9:00 am - November 30, 2020 @ 5:30 pm

University UMC has a long and supportive relationship with the IFC’s Community Kitchen; however, many of our volunteers are no longer able to help during the pandemic because they are in the most vulnerable age group or are otherwise immunosuppressed.
Each month University UMC is responsible for the 2nd Monday dinner and the 2nd Tuesday lunch. The kitchen is also understaffed on other dates. As with many things in our lives, the pandemic has changed the way the kitchen is functioning. The kitchen has transitioned from a dine-in to a carry-out meal service. The clientele come to a station, pick up meals in containers, and depart. Only 1 or 2 people are needed for prep and 2 for serving. Masks are required for everyone!
Volunteer Hours needed:
Dinner = prep 4:30-5:30 p.m.;  serve 5:30-7 p.m.
Lunch = prep 9-11 a.m.; serve 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Please consider signing up for a shift here.
