JOY and Provost Blouin

November 8, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

On Thursday, November 8,  the JOY Group (Just Older Youth) at University UMC welcomes UNC-Chapel Hill Provost Robert Blouin.  The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Provost Blouin will speak about plans and priorities for UNC-Chapel Hill and entertain questions after his talk.  Following the presentation attendees will reassemble in the Fellowship Hall around 12:00 p.m. for a catered lunch ($14) by Mediterranean Deli.

Robert A. “Bob” Blouin is the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Provost serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the university and works in unison with Chancellor Carol Folt to lead critically important university-wide initiatives. The Provost also has oversight responsibilities for budget and planning. Together with the chancellor, Provost Blouin has a central leadership role in implementing UNC-CH’s first-ever strategic framework, an initiative that will guide university growth over the next decade and beyond.

To sign up for the program, phone the church office (919-929-7191) not later than Monday, November 5. Due to parking limitations at University UMC, attendees are encourage to either (a) park in the Rosemary Street Parking Deck (opposite the church, through Amber Alley) or (b) park at the usual “JOY gathering place” at University Place (Silverspot Theater parking lot, adjacent to Willow Drive, up toward Chapel Hill Tire) and be transported to and from University UMC by the church bus and carpool.
