Blessing of the Animals

A Blessing of the Animals, in many congregations, expresses God’s and the Church’s love, care, and concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God’s creatures, the Church’s witness of stewardship of creation is strengthened.
All community members are welcome to University UMC’s Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. Gather on the front lawn with your pet (dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, hermit crabs, etc.) as clergy bless them in honor of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals.
